Prayer Before Class

This poem was published in the 2001 issue of Harbinger, the literary magazine of Carmel High School, where I attended. This was my Junior year and I received a number of compliments for the poem, it seems I was not the only student who had issues with mandatory prayer before class.

New Priorites Needed for US Foreign Policy in Colombia

This was a paper I wrote for a class in my senior year of high school, in 2002. My views on the conflict in Colombia have changed since I wrote this, leaving me more sympathetic to the FARC and less sympathetic towards the US. However you can tell that I had a liberal perspective on the conflict, as I wanted the US to focus more on peace and ending poverty than the 'war on drugs.'

This article appeared in my high school's newspaper, Crossroads, and covered my cover band's performance at the school's annual fund-raiser. We were a heavy metal cover band, which I sung for and this article quotes me talking about our performance. Published February 28, 2002.
