At noon on Thursday April 23, 2009, students, faculty and staff of the University of Illinois at Chicago's (UIC) medical school rallied with community members against the closing of a medical clinic that UIC funded. The Center for Women and Families in the predominately lower-class Latino neighborhood of Pilsen, provides low cost medical service to the residents of Pilsen. The school is using the economy as an excuse to close the clinic, but activists rallied to save the clinic.

UIC's logo, "Learning and Labor" gotta love it. It's practically socialist.
